Save Kyoto!

Zombies have taken over the Japanese city of Kyoto, and you've been sent in to bring everyone back from the dead. The catch? You're doing it with fast food.

Zombiefied

If you've ever played a virtual reality cooking game before, you'll know what to expect here. Dead Hungry is essentially a typical game of the genre with the exception that your customers are zombies. You have to prepare, cook, and serve up the food—which cures the zombies of their undeadedness—to your brain seeking customers. Don't serve up the food quick enough, and you become the food. Quantity is key, as it's a the amount of food that cures the zombies. To that end, some zombies (such as sumo wrestlers) take more food to cure than others. There are bosses to battle, and you can throw objects at the approaching zombies to hold them off a little and give yourself a bit more time. The graphics and sound design are very nicely done.

Fun But Not Particularly Deep

The game is undeniably enjoyable and well put together. Whether there is much replayability in the Dead Hungry with little beyond the core game to go on is a different matter. If you want some fast paced VR action, however, Dead Hungry provides.

PROS

  • Good graphics
  • Fast paced
